In alliance with Joe Walsh Duesenberg developed an instrument which not only meets Joe’s requirements for tone, looks and playability but which is aimed to also fit the taste of many other guitar players out there. In a career spanning more than 40 years, Walsh has been a member of five successful rock bands: the Eagles, the James Gang, Barnstorm, The Party Boys, and Ringo Starr & His All-Starr Band. His guitar lines have helped make the Eagles a name known across the world and in 1977 his lead lines won Hotel California Record of the year at the Grammy's.
This guitar has some incredible, unique features. The fret markers spell out Joe's name in morse code, referencing his passion for radio operation, the Tibetan Knot on the top between both pickups is a symbol of very personal meaning to Joe which he also carries as a tattoo and, being a serious guitarhead himself, Joe likes to mess around with the hardware of his guitars, often resulting in weird hardware finish mixes, so for this reason the hardware of the Alliance Joe Walsh is a mix of nickel and gold. Check out the gold radiator grill tail piece.
This guitar features a thin body profile measuring only 3.5cm/1.37, a regular Duesenberg mid D profile Neck and medium Jumbo frets. A Duesenberg Little Toaster pickup delivers transparent treble tone in the bridge position and the state-of-the-art noise-cancelling Duesenberg SingleTwin Singlecoil gives clear classic neck sounds in any situation. You can dial in some seriously amazing tones with this set of pickups, The Eagles use rich, deep sounds created by multiple guitars palying seperate lines yet each one has to sound unique and amazing. This guitar doesn't dissapoint when you need that extra level of depth and toanl variety.
For the Fullerton line, Duesenberg changed their classic body shapes to a double-cutaway design and added some deluxe extras. The Fullerton TV guitar has a unique sound that you can't really get anywhere else. Part of this comes from its acoustic guitar inspired wood choice of a laminated spruce top with laminated flamed maple back and sides. This not only makes that guitar sound huge when unplugged but it also gives you a unique classic tone that works wonderfully for any clean or crunch tones. The neck is made out of a single piece of maple that is set into the body and carved to a classic 'D' shape. Finishing off the wood choices you have an Indian rosewood fingerboard keeping the playing slick and smooth.
Additionally, their Diamond Deluxe Tremola proved to be one of the best of its kind, providing buttery operation and outstanding tuning stability. If you have ever played a vintage guitar with a tremolo you will understand the tuning issues that plagued guitarists who dared to use them. Duesenberg were not happy giving you a guitar with a trem that was more pain that it was worth. So they went back to the drawing board and between this new trem and the Z-Tuners you will never have tuning issues again.
Duesenberg do not cut corners when it comes to building their guitars. From their custom made hardware to the wood choice and the craftsmanship that goes into brining it all together they are hard to match. This guitar is part of their Artist Line and as such it is a bit more special than your standard Doozy with some unique apointments that are not often found anywhere else.
Starting off at the body you have a laminated spruce top on top of laminated flame maple back and sides with a solid sustain block running through the guitar. This not only gives this guitar an almost acoustic like amount of dynamics but almost completely eliminates the feedback issues that you can get with hollowbody guitars.
All their fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for. The neck has been carved out of a single piece of maple into their signature D shaped profile that fits wonderfully in the hands without feeling too chunky or too thin. Topped off with Indian rosewood for the fretboard cut off into 22 frets at a 25.5" scale length. After you get your hands round this neck you will fall in love.
If you know Duesenberg you know that they want to control everything that goes into their guitars. All their instruments are fitted with their own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. They design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates. This is to make sure that they can deliver the exact guitar they want at a great price and it also means that everything is made bespoke for the guitar you have. From the split shaft style Z-Tuners to their deluxe Tremola everything has been purposefully designed for performance and style.
Duesenberg are most famous for one perticular sound and a lot of that comes from their signature pickups. The SingleTwin Mini and LittleToaster Humbucker pickups are made by Duesenberg in house with components sourced by them and known to be of the best quality around. Everything from the wire to the magnets and even casings are all made out of top quality materials not found anywhere else so you can get the same blues rock sound that has captured a generation of players. For the cutting leads and heavy riffs, Duesenberg took their own classically wound LittleToaster Humbucker and paired it with their open SingleTwin Mini for airy chords and creamy licks. The middle position of both pickups features a special wiring, which splits certain low end frequencies out of the humbucker signal, resulting in an open and extremely versatile addition to your pallet of sounds.
We are proud that for the first model of this brand new Duesenberg Series we had the honor of working together with one of the most remarkable and influential musicians of our time. In alliance with Joe Walsh we developed an instrument which not only meets Joe’s requirements for tone, looks and playability but which is aimed to also fit the taste of many other guitar players out there. The instrument features numerous different details connected to Joe’s style or history. The fretboard inlays spell his name in morsecode, referencing his passion for radio operation. Being a serious guitarhead himself, he also likes to mess around with the hardware of his guitars, often resulting in weird hardware finish mixes, so for this reason the hardware of the Alliance Joe Walsh is a mix of nickel and gold. The instrument will be available in a beautiful classic Gold Burst or solid Black finish. According to the main colour, the instrument has a Fullerton Elite Style headstock front in either Gold Burst/Brown or Black/Pearloid. The Tibetan Knot on the top between both pickups is a symbol of very personal meaning to Joe which he also carries as a tattoo. The guitar features a thin body profile measuring only 3.5cm/1.37″, a regular Duesenberg mid D profile Neck and medium Jumbo frets. A Duesenberg LittleToaster pickup delivers transparent treble tone in the bridge position and the state-of-the-art noise-cancelling Duesenberg SingleTwin Mini gives clear classic neck sounds in any situation. The guitars are equipped with our own Radiator Tremolo which we customized with a golden grill.
We would be happy to make yours.
