Polyphia's Tim Henson has wowed audiences with his idiosyncratic style of technical shredding since the band's earliest independently released EPs dropped in the early 2010s. Fittingly, the Ibanez TOD10 Tim Henson Signature is a high-performance solidbody electric guitar with custom tweaks and appointments tailor-made for fleet-fingered fretboard gymnastics. The TOD10 is built around an American basswood body, which exhibits a warm, growling acoustic tone with hyper-defined mids. A set of Tim's signature multi-voice Fishman Fluence humbuckers yield a plethora of tones from squeaky cleans to high-octane grind. The TOD10's roasted maple neck boasts Ibanez's comfortable AZ Oval "C" shape, and its 24-fret, 12-inch-radius ebony fingerboard was designed to accommodate the most demanding of hand maneuvers. You also get a Gotoh T1502 tremolo for bending, twisting, and diving with spot-on intonation. The TOD10 Tim Henson Signature is rounded out with a Graph Tech nut, Gotoh locking tuners, illuminated side markers, and an eye-grabbing "Tree of Death" fingerboard inlay.
The Fishman Fluence Tim Henson humbuckers in the Ibanez TOD10 Tim Henson Signature deliver the Polyphia virtuoso's most sought-after tones, from chiming cleans to scorching-hot leads. Unlike most wire-wound models, Fluence pickups manage to serve up this massive tone arsenal without noise or inductance issues. On top of that, Fishman Fluence Tim Henson humbuckers provide you with your choice of three distinctly different voices, plus a multitude of pickup combinations that are accessible via a dedicated push-pull tone pot and a 5-way blade switch.
The TOD10 Tim Henson Signature's roasted maple neck offers increased stability, durability, water resistance, and tolerance to temperature changes. Beyond that, the neck's AZ Oval "C" shape fills your hand nicely at the lower frets, while providing a more modern feel when you're playing up high. The TOD10 vaunts a fast-playing 12-inch-radius ebony fingerboard with 24 stainless-steel frets. You also get a Graph Tech nut and Gotoh locking tuners. Illuminated side dots give you a great point of reference on dark stages. A head-turning "Tree of Death" inlay puts the perfect finishing touch on this solidbody electric guitar's fingerboard.
Developed in collaboration with Gotoh, the TOD10's T1502 allows for effortless string skipping and hybrid picking thanks to narrow string spacing. Loading the guitar's tremolo arm is a breeze by virtue of the T1502's snap-and-hold socket, and its arm torque adjuster allows for fine adjustments without any tools. The T1502's stud lock screws lock the stud bolts in place, enhancing the instrument's resonance and providing excellent tuning stability. As you'd expect, the T1502's 2-point floating tremolo system achieves an astoundingly smooth tremolo motion in either direction.
The TOD10 Tim Henson Signature electric from Ibanez was designed in collaboration with one half of the dynamic guitar duo of Polyphia. Polyphia is a primarily instrumental progressive rock band based in Plano, Texas that weaves technical and virtuosic guitar instrumentations together with hip-hop, jazz and R&B-influenced production and grooves to create a truly unique and original sound. The Tim Henson guitar is highly inspired by the Ibanez AZ model, and it also features some of Henson’s personal touches to make it perfectly designed for his versatile playing style. The TOD10’s most striking aesthetic feature may be the fingerboard inlay design, which Tim has dubbed as the "Tree of Death." The name and the design are both nods to the iconic Ibanez “Tree of Life” inlay design, but with a twist. An American basswood body is paired with a roasted maple neck and ebony fretboard for tight lows and mids, along with a strong attack. Henson’s signature Fishman Fluence pickups span the entire range of aggressive lead and rhythm tones to the cleanest of clean single-coil combinations, even touching on sounds Henson was previously only able to produce with his acoustic guitars. Gotoh MG-T locking machine heads achieve incredible tuning stability, cutting down string-changing time, while a T1502 bridge with steel saddles and a die-cast zinc tremolo block allow for a quick response and improved articulation. The 10.5 mm string spacing allows for easy picking across strings and its snap-in construction makes it easy to load a tremolo arm. A protective gig bag is included.
The Roasted Maple neck is heat-treated to increase stability, durability, moisture resistance and tolerance of temperature changes. The Graphite reinforcement rods provides massive sustain and excellent stability.
Ebony produces tight lows and mid range with a strong attack in the high end and features a quick response and rich sustain.
The American Basswood body delivers a natural and flat tone.
The Luminlay side dot position marks make it easy for players to see fretboard position marks when performing on dark stages.
Tim's signature Fishman® Fluence™ pickups span the entire range of aggressive lead and rhythm tones to the cleanest of clean single coil combinations, even touching on sounds Tim was previously only able to produce with his acoustic guitars. The Oil-impregnated bone nut provides superior tuning stability and warm rich resonance. Stainless steel frets boast excellent corrosion resistance. The wide and tall fret-type offers a quick response, good articulation when playing chords and clear tone when playing single notes.
A shallow body back contour and a big forearm contour make the guitar body fit the player naturally, thus increasing playing comfort. The AZ body has a deep waist and different radii on each body edge curve, making it easier to play in both standing or sitting positions.
The Voicing switch allows the pickups to switch between three musically complimentary voices.
