As part of their new Advanced Acoustic series, the AAD300CE represents a bold step forward in design and tone. With the AAD300CE, Ibanez offers a grand dreadnought acoustic that has slightly larger overall dimensions. The result is not only a richer and brighter sound but a bump in volume! The AAD300CE features a solid Sitka spruce top with okoume back and sides, plus natural low gloss finish that really lets the natural wood tone come through. A Thermo-Aged nyatoh neck with Macassar ebony fingerboard delivers ultra-smooth response, making the AAD300CE ideal for both flatpicking and fingerpicking. In addition, a deep, Advanced Access cutaway gives you wonderful access to those higher notes up the neck. And when you are ready to plug in, an AP11 magnetic pickup mounted at the end of the fretboard and an Ibanez Custom Electronics preamp with volume and tone controls deliver outstanding amplified acoustic tone.
In addition to the AAD300CE's slightly larger overall body, it comes with Ibanez's X-M bracing design that enhances the treble and midrange and helps to ensure a clear bottom end. The X-M label comes from the pattern itself: an intricate overlapping of X-shaped and M-shaped support. Not only does the X-M bracing give you a boost in tone, it also helps to provide support and durability for the long haul.
Ibanez not only treated the nyatoh neck to its Thermo-Aged processing — which removes impurities from the wood — but they also cut it to a low-oval-grip profile, giving you a smooth, comfortable ride up and down neck as you explore chords and leads. In addition, the okoume fingerboard comes with rounded edges for even more comfort. All that strumming and picking are also supported by a scalloped Macassar ebony bridge, making the instrument lighter in weight while improving the overall vibration when you play. Many of us here at Music Experience are blown away by the tone and playability of the Advanced Acoustic series, and you will be, too!
The Advanced Acoustic series represents an important step forward in the long and storied tradition of the acoustic guitar. In what amounts to a fully reimagined acoustic experience, these instruments were designed from the ground up to deliver a richer, brighter, and louder tone, with an unprecedentedly wide dynamic range. With slightly larger than typical proportions, we decided to name this new body shape the “Grand Dreadnought.” This reinvented design achieves a superb, powerful sound, and thanks to the extensive consideration given to the ergonomics, it’s extremely comfortable to play. The Advanced Acoustic series pushes the acoustic guitar to new heights, in a way that promises an exciting new experience for all players.
After spending years of trial-and-error, Ibanez realized the out-of-the-box X-M Bracing to generate the ultimate sound standing out on the stage. The carefully designed scalloped X-bracing, the allocation of tone braces, and finger braces transmit the string vibration efficiently through the bridge to the body. The X-M Bracing creates the clear bottom and crispy treble sound with trimmed warm mid-range, yet provides a wide dynamic range and high response.
The Low Oval neck grip is designed for easy chord strumming and the Rounded Fretboard Edges provides superior playability. Thermo Aged, a special drying process, makes the neck light and hard and provides stability and better resonance.
The newly designed headstock shape is the result of thorough research and investigation. Its tapered shape provides lighter weight, as well as a straight string alignment which enhances tuning stability and reduces any neck twisting effect.
The AP11 pickup is small, lightweight and positioned so it won't inhibit the natural vibrations of the top wood. The pickup generates a highly responsive sound with minimal feedback and delivers a lively response throughout the entire frequency range. The sound is transparent and reflects the guitar's natural acoustic tone while preserving presence and mid-range. The AP11 also works well with effects such as reverb, chorus and many others.
It consists of three transducers facilitating organic individual note clarity and naturally reproduces percussive body tapping techniques. This pickup also adds an airy depth of tone and brightness to the amplified sound.
Luminescent side dot inlays line the side of the neck for more easily navigating the fretboard in low light environments.
The Ovangkol fretboard provides greater playing comfort.
The Okoume back and sides generate a woody, warm tone when the guitar is played softly or finger-picked and provide punchy high-mids with a clear projection when strummed.
