Genelec 8350A bi-amplified studio monitors are built for demanding professional applications, providing you with a compact footprint, a sophisticated enclosure design, and outstanding acoustic performance. The 8350A monitors are compatible with Genelec's Smart Active Monitor (SAM) technology - which we're very impressed with at Music Experience. SAM technology allows these studio monitors to optimize themselves and automatically align their level, timing, and equalization of room response anomalies, ensuring that you hear the original nuances of your source, without leaving anything out or adding anything to your signal. On top of that, these monitors deliver impressively deep bass, built-in decoupling, ISS power management, and more. Whether you work in a recording studio, post-production house, digital edit suite, radio, or television, you can't go wrong with a set of Genelec 8350A bi-amplified studio monitors!
These days, it's not unusual for an engineer to work in a small, less-than-perfect acoustical environment. Genelec's Smart Active Monitor (SAM) technology takes this into account by allowing the 8350A studio monitor to automatically calibrate its level, timing, and equalization to your room, ensuring that you hear the original nuances of your source accurately, without color or distortion. By using the highly-intuitive Genelec Loudspeaker Manager (GLM) software, you can control an entire network of 8350As, giving you a highly-flexible computer-controlled system of monitors and subwoofers.
The 8350A studio monitor features Genelec's Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) with rounded edges and a gently curved front and sides. This allows the 8350A to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimized cabinet edge diffraction.
Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8350A also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8350A's directivity. Genelec designed this specially shaped, very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on- and off-axis frequency response. As a result, the 8350A has an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on- and off-axis. This also gives the 8340A superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue.
To increase the 8350A woofer's low-frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow-optimized reflex port. The long, curved tube maximizes airflow, so the 8350A can reproduce deep bass without compression. The tube terminates with a wide flare, minimizing port noises and providing excellent bass articulation. An optimized die-cast aluminum structure with an extremely durable semi-matte finish and acoustically optimized metal grilles add to the 8340A's acoustic excellence.
Genelec's low distortion drivers (8" woofer and 1" metal dome tweeter) are driven by the 8350A's dedicated 200-watt Class D bass amplifier and 150-watt Class D treble amplifier, after sophisticated filtering. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and versatile room response controls are standard.
The versatile mounting features on the 8350A include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further M10 thread for mounting on the cabinet base. In addition, every Genelec 8350A monitor comes with a standard Iso-Pod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler). The Iso-Pod enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it is resting on.
Thanks to Genelec's Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) power management system, you never have to remember to shut down your 8350A monitors again. ISS constantly checks for input signal. After a while, if ISS doesn't detect anything, it switches your 8350A over to a low-power sleep state, safeguarding your gear and sparing you the wasted electricity.
All the intelligence of Smart Active Monitoring in an extremely potent nearfield monitor. Introducing the Genelec 8350A.
Boasting high SPL and extended frequency response, the 8350A is crafted to deliver the absolute transparency and neutrality you expect from a Genelec nearfield monitor, and will fit seamlessly into any studio or broadcast environment. With its wide uncoloured sweet spot, it promotes accurate and reliable mix decisions, and its bulletproof durability is essential for mission-critical applications.
