TGenelec's 8050B delivers the intensely accurate sound you need for your studio, broadcast suite, mastering lab, or other audio production facility. Sporting an impressive 120dB per pair and clear low-frequency response down to 35Hz, the 8050B is more than a match for most standard mix facilities all by itself. And if you need a 2.1 or surround sound setup, it integrates effortlessly with a subwoofer. Genelec's unique edge-less Minimum Diffraction Enclosure (MDE) doesn't just look cool, it provides you with exceptional dimensional imaging. When you can't compromise on sound quality, it's time to ask Music Experience about Genelec 8050B studio monitors.
The 8050B features Genelec's MDE (Minimum Diffraction Enclosure) enclosure with rounded edges and gently curved front and sides. This allows the 8050B to achieve a very smooth frequency response and superb imaging qualities with minimized cabinet edge diffraction.
Like all Genelec 8000 Series monitors, the 8050B also features the advanced Genelec Directivity Control Waveguide (DCW). The revolutionary DCW has been further enhanced to provide extremely accurate control of the 8050B's directivity. Genelec designed this specially shaped, very smooth surface and integrated it with the enclosure. Its area has been maximized to achieve an astoundingly flat on- and off-axis frequency response. As a result, the 8050B has an astoundingly wide, flat frequency response both on- and off-axis. This also gives the 8050B superb imaging qualities and less listening fatigue.
Genelec's low distortion drivers (8" bass speakers and 1" metal dome tweeters) are driven by the 8050B's dedicated 150-watt bass and 120-watt treble amplifiers after sophisticated filtering. The 8050B's sophisticated low level active crossover has versatile controls for matching the monitor to difficult acoustic environments. Magnetic shielding, overload protection circuitry, and versatile room response controls are standard on the 8050B.
To increase the 8050B woofer's low-frequency extension and SPL capacity, Genelec designed an ingenious flow-optimized reflex port. The long, curved tube maximizes airflow so the 8050B can reproduce deep bass without compression. The tube terminates with a wide flare, minimizing port noises and providing excellent bass articulation. An optimized die-cast aluminium structure with extremely durable semi-matte finish and acoustically optimized metal grilles add to the 8050B's acoustic excellence.
Thanks to Genelec's Intelligent Signal Sensing (ISS) power management system, you never have to remember to shut down your 8050B monitors again. ISS constantly checks for input signal. After a while, if ISS doesn't detect anything, it switches your 8050B over to a low-power sleep state, safeguarding your gear and sparing you the wasted electricity.
The versatile mounting features on the 8050B include integrated rear support points for wall and floor stands plus a further M10 thread for mounting on the cabinet base. In addition, every Genelec 8050B monitor comes with a standard IsoPod (Isolation Positioner/Decoupler). The IsoPod is a clever mounting stand, which allows the 8050B to perform in either the vertical or horizontal position. The IsoPod also enables the acoustic axis of the monitor to be aimed at the listener while acoustically and mechanically decoupling the monitor from the surface it is resting on.
Creativity requires the best tools. Genelec's range of studio monitors covers multiple audio monitoring applications from large broadcasting and post-production studios to audio production in small studio environments. Genelec professional studio monitors provide an accurate sound reproduction with outstanding clarity, definition, and neutrality – a quality that you can always trust.
Nearfield monitoring with real muscle. The 8050B has power in abundance, making it ideally suited to larger spaces and longer listening distances.
The 8050B represents a class-leading balance of extraordinary SPL output, expansive dynamic range and an intensely detailed, transparent performance. With superb directivity and a wide sweet spot, you're free to move position and still trust what you're hearing.
With its neutral performance and ability to adapt to your room via simple rear-panel room compensation switches, the 8050B ensures a flat playback response to help you really analyse the spectral balance of a recording and produce mixes that always translate reliably.
