If you’re the type of guitarist who combs pawn shops looking for the perfect vintage Strat, you’ll dig the Fender Vintera ’70s Stratocaster — it delivers the style and sound of one of Fender’s classic eras. A period-correct early-’70s C-shaped neck and 7.25"-radius fingerboard provide classic playability, while Tim Shaw–designed pickups yield crystalline, bell-like Strat tones with truckloads of crisp articulation. F-stamped tuning machines and a 3-bolt neck plate provide original-era aesthetics, while a vintage-style 6-point synchronized tremolo enables expressive bends and dives. The Vintera ’70s Stratocaster includes a vintage-tinted neck and vintage-inspired color — it’s almost like playing a carefully preserved classic!
There may not be a model of solidbody electric guitar that is more ingrained in modern culture than the Fender Stratocaster. Its finely sculpted body, groundbreaking tremolo design, and clear-as-a-bell trio of single-coil pickups come together in an instrument that is embraced by players in every genre of music around the world. With its vintage-style, 6-point synchronized tremolo, early-’70s C-shaped neck, F-stamped tuning machines, 3-bolt neck plate, and single-coil pickups, the Vintera ’70s Stratocaster is a direct descendent of all those iconic guitars — it boasts all the same features, playability, and versatility that defines the instrument.
Crisp and articulate, the Fender Vintera ’70s Stratocaster comes armed with a killer set of vintage-style, Tim Shaw–designed single-coil pickups. These pups boast Alnico V magnets, Polysol-coated wire, and flat-staggered pole pieces — everything you need to reproduce the crystalline, bell-like sound that made the original Strat such a popular choice for the burgeoning rock scene. These three pickups are selected by a modern, 5-position blade switch, making it easy to nail those glassy Strat sounds with a flick of the switch.
The Vintera Series offers Fender’s most popular models in a myriad of shapes and sizes. These instruments are ideal for players who dig vintage-style Fenders, but feel that American Original and Custom Shop guitars are out of their reach. Vintera Series instruments are available in both Vintage and Modified configurations: Vintage models span the ’50s to the ’70s, with period-correct specifications for each era, while Modified models look like vintage instruments but include modern updates that contemporary guitarists will appreciate. All Vintera Series guitars and basses boast Tim Shaw–designed pickups and are available in a wide array of vintage-inspired colors. The guitarists here at Music Experience have found the Vintera Series to be the perfect introduction to Fender’s iconic lineup of legendary instruments.
For players who want the style and sound of Fender’s classic years, we created the Vintera ‘70s Stratocaster. Equipped with the coveted features that defined the decade —including period-accurate neck profile and playing feel, along with re-voiced pickups—this guitar has all of the chime and articulation that made the Stratocaster a legend. For authentic Fender tone we recreated the trio of ‘70s single-coil Stratocaster pickups to sound more like the originals. Flat-staggered pole pieces (an authentic 70s element) create a balanced string-to-string response. Crystalline and bell-like, they have the crisp, articulate sound that put Fender on the map. The “Early 70s C”-shaped neck has a 7.25”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 vintage-style frets for classic playing feel. A vintage-style, six-point synchronized tremolo and period-correct “F”-stamped tuning machines offer original-era aesthetics, rock-solid performance and tuning stability. Other features include three-bolt neck plate, chrome hardware and vintage-style strap buttons. Includes deluxe gig bag.
A classic Fender tone wood, ash features beautiful grain, along with chiming highs, well-defined midrange and strong low end.
Remarkably comfortable, the "Early 70s C"-shaped neck profile is sculpted for a period-correct playing feel—thinner at the first fret, thicker at the twelfth.
We revoiced the pickups to be more 70s-accurate. These flat-pole pickups are full of the bell-like, crystalline tone that made Fender instruments famous.
Hosting 21 vintage-style frets, the 7.25”-radius fingerboard provides the comfortable playing feel of a vintage instrument.
One of our most innovative designs, this six-point tremolo offers proper intonation, full adjustability and easy access to cool vibrato sounds.
These tuning machines have a unique housing stamped with our famous “F” logo.
