The Fender Vintera '60s Stratocaster Modified will give you the vintage tones you're looking for coupled with the feel and playability of a modern Strat. This guitar features a contoured alder body, comfy C-shaped maple neck, and pau ferro fingerboard. You'll love the Tim Shaw Hot '65 pickups that are a higher-output take on the classic '60s Strat pickups. Where this one breaks from tradition is the modern 9.5" fretboard radius, medium jumbo frets, upgraded tremolo bridge, and S-1 switching. Even die-hard vintage Strat purists at Music Experience love the S-1 switch that adds the neck pickup to positions 1 and 2. The Fender Vintera '60s Stratocaster Modified is the perfect blend of classic styling and contemporary playing improvements.
For the '60s Stratocaster Modified, Tim Shaw has created his take on the Stratocaster pickups from the 1960s. His Hot '65 pickups feature period-correct plain enamel wire and staggered Alnico 5 pole pieces. You'll love the very slight bite that these pickups add to the traditional spanky Stratocaster sound. The higher output sounds great whether you're playing clean or dirty.
The Vintera '60s Stratocaster Modified stays true to its roots with classic tonewoods. The lightweight alder body and maple neck combine to make a bright and resonant body that's been loved by players for decades. Instead of the classic rosewood board, Fender used pau ferro to add depth and warmth to the sound. Brighter than rosewood but warmer than ebony, pau ferro is the newest classic Fender fretboard material.
The Modified versions of the Vintera series come loaded with a 5-way switch and Fender's exclusive S-1 switching system. The S-1 system simply adds the neck pickup to your sound. When you're playing in positions 1 and 2, you can press down on the volume knob to add the neck pickup. Now, you can finally play through all three pickups at once or with the neck and bridge at the same time.
The Vintera Series offers Fender’s most popular models in a myriad of shapes and sizes. These instruments are ideal for players who dig vintage-style Fenders, but feel that American Original and Custom Shop guitars are out of their reach. Vintera Series instruments are available in both Vintage and Modified configurations: Vintage models span the ’50s to the ’70s, with period-correct specifications for each era, while Modified models look like vintage instruments but include modern updates that contemporary guitarists will appreciate. All Vintera Series guitars and basses boast Tim Shaw–designed pickups and are available in a wide array of vintage-inspired colors. The guitarists here at Music Experience have found the Vintera Series to be the perfect introduction to Fender’s iconic lineup of legendary instruments.
For players who appreciate the mojo of the past matched to contemporary features, we created the Vintera ‘60s Stratocaster Modified. Blending classic looks with a modern neck profile and fingerboard radius, hotter pickups and updated electronics, this guitar packs a surprising amount of power under the hood. For modern Fender tone we re-voiced the trio of single-coil Stratocaster pickups, kicking things up a bit by increasing the output for more girth and gain. Thick-sounding, yet articulate, they have the power you need for any style of music. The “Modern C”-shaped neck has a 9.5”-radius maple fingerboard with 21 medium-jumbo frets for classic playing feel. A contemporary, two-point synchronized tremolo offers rock-solid performance and tuning stability, while the S-1™ switch adds the neck pickup in positions 1 and 2, unlocking even more tonal variety. Other features include vintage-style tuning machines and strap buttons, chrome hardware and four-bolt neck plate. Includes deluxe gig bag.
A classic Fender tone wood, alder’s sound is balanced with equal doses of lows, mids and highs.
The “Modern C”-shaped profile is designed for comfort and performance. The smooth back finish makes it play even faster.
We redesigned this guitar’s pickups. They’re packed with the bell-like, articulate tone that made Fender famous—only hotter.
Comfortable for chording and single-note playing alike, the 9.5”-radius fingerboard offers modern feel thanks to its medium-jumbo frets, while also making wide bends easier in the upper registers.
One of our most innovative designs, this two-screw tremolo offers proper intonation, full adjustability and easy access to cool vibrato sounds.
The S-1 switch adds the neck pickup to positions one and two, accessing previously unavailable combinations, or the power of all three pickups cranking simultaneously.
