Duesenberg are quickly becoming the go-to guitar for tone devotees who want a guitar that was built just for them. Each one is made to order so you can guarantee the guitar you recieve is fresh from the hands of a master craftsman. This hollowbody single double cut model has a vintage style finish and professionally setup hardware. This, combined with a stunning set of pickups, makes for a truly top end guitar.
Duesenberg do not cut corners when it comes to building their guitars. From their custom made hardware to the wood choice and the craftsmanship that goes into brining it all together they are hard to match. This guitar is part of their Artist Line and as such it is a bit more special than your standard Doozy with some unique appointments that are not often found anywhere else.
Starting off at the body you have a laminated spruce top on top of laminated flame maple back and sides with a solid sustain block running through the guitar. This not only gives this guitar an almost acoustic-like amount of dynamics but almost completely eliminates the feedback issues that you often get with hollowbody guitars.
All their fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for. The neck has been carved out of a single piece of maple into their signature D shaped profile that fits wonderfully in the hands without feeling too chunky or too thin. Topped off with Indian rosewood for the fretboard cut off into 22 frets at a 25.5" scale length. After you get your hands round this neck you will fall in love.
If you know Duesenberg you know that they want to control everything that goes into their guitars. All their instruments are fitted with their own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. They design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates. This is to make sure that they can deliver the exact guitar they want at a great price and it also means that everything is made bespoke for the guitar you have. From the split shaft style Z-Tuners to their deluxe Tremola everything has been purposefully designed for performance and style.
Duesenberg are most famous for one perticular sound and a lot of that comes from their signature pickups. The Domino P90 and Grand Vintage Humbucker pickups are made by Duesenberg in house with components sourced by them and known to be of the best quality around. Everything from the wire to the magnets and even casings are all made out of top quality materials not found anywhere else so you can get the same blues rock sound that has captured a generation of players.
The Gran Majesto is a big body, semi hollow, dual pickup, 22 fret electric guitar, featuring arched top and back, bent sides and a 648mm scale. Its 45mm sides and semi-hollow construction, featuring a solid centerblock, provide the celebrated Duesenberg flexibility from clean to rock tones and even further.
Additionally, the Gran Majesto features twin F-Holes, a floating transparent pickguardand our new 4-Way rotary pickup switch which adds a new variation to the way we combine pickups.
The pickup switch located at the lower cutaway now lets you choose between a full Humbucker and P90 combination, as well as the typical Duesenberg wiring where low-end frequencies are filtered out of the humbucker signal when both pickups are combined. You can also select each one individually, of course.
The new Phonico pickup covers are our visionary expression of truly independent hardware design. They also prove that nothing really has to stay the same just because it always has been. The inside dimensions are designed to hold most forms of today's pickups, just in case you may want to swap them. We don't think you will.
The open style modern tuners operate smoothly, reduce weight and eliminate sharp string ends sticking out of the headstock. And the design received just as much attention to detail as the rest of the guitar.
All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates.
All our fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for.
The Gran Majesto is available in two variations: The double cutaway version comes in a deep Catalina Green and is equipped with an aluminium stop-tailpiece for enhanced resonance transfer. The single cutaway version is available in a classic Vintage Burst sporting a Duesenberg Radiator Tremola. Both versions are only available in the above mentioned colours and hardware configurations.
We would be happy to make yours.
