The Duesenberg 59er is tradition and innovation combined. With an all new approach in traditional design, the 59er will feel like fresh air around your fingers. While this guitar is surely new and exciting, it also has a comfortably familiar feel and sound.
With reference to classic electric guitar construction, maple and mahogany are the choice woods for the 59er. Its neck and main body is made from fine mahogany, which perfectly supports the overall idea of tone and attitude for this instrument. The body is then sound chambered to further improve weight and resonance characteristics. Finally, this is literally topped by a solid, arched flamed maple top which are hand selected for a beautiful, yet natural grain.
The Duesenberg 59er is covered in an all-over Outlaw finish with cream binding around the body and neck. For the classic leads and fat riffs, Duesenberg took their own classically wound Grand Vintage Humbucker and put it in both the bridge and rhythm positions. Includes hardshell case.
The 59er has a unique sound that you can't really get anywhere else. Part of this comes from its 50's guitar inspired wood choice of a solid maple top with a chambered solid mahogany body. This not only makes that guitar sound huge but it also gives you a unique classic tone that works wonderfully for any clean or crunch tones. The neck is made out of a single piece of mahogany that is set into the body and carved to a classic 'D' shape. Finishing off the wood choices you have an Indian rosewood fingerboard keeping the playing slick and smooth.
Duesenberg do not cut corners when it comes to building their guitars. From their custom made hardware to the wood choice and the craftsmanship that goes into bringing it all together they are hard to match. This guitar is a bit more special than your standard Doozy with some unique appointments that are not often found anywhere else.
The neck has been carved out of a single piece of mahogany into their signature D shaped profile that fits wonderfully in the hands without feeling too chunky or too thin. Topped off with Indian rosewood for the fretboard cut off into 22 frets at a 25.6" scale length. After you get your hands round this neck you will fall in love.
If you know Duesenberg you know that they want to control everything that goes into their guitars. This is to make sure that they can deliver the exact guitar they want at a great price and it also means that everything is made bespoke for the guitar you have. From the split shaft style Z-Tuners to their deluxe Tremola everything has been purposefully designed for performance and style.
Duesenberg are most famous for their unique iconic sound and a lot of that comes from their signature pickups. The Domino "Phonico" P90 and Grand Vintage Humbucker pickups are made by Duesenberg in house with components sourced by them and known to be of the best quality around. Everything from the wire to the magnets and even casings are all made out of top quality materials not found anywhere else so you can get the same blues rock sound that has captured a generation of players.

Keeping in mind what the 59er will be used for primarily, we fitted her with two of our fine GrandVintage humbuckers, providing her with the tools to become what she was meant to be - a real rock guitar. Still, we wanted to give her the ability to deliver clear, transparent sounds. Therefore, in the middle position of the pickup selector, certain low end frequencies are filtered out of the signal of the bridge humbucker, clearing up the mix and adding the pearly trebles we all love.
All our instruments are fitted with our own hardware, which you will only find on a Duesenberg. We design it with attention to even the smallest details to create truly unique instruments from tuner buttons to jack plates.
All our fretboards are carefully pleked and finished by hand for optimum playability and the smooth feel they are famous for.
For the 59er, we took the same Diamond fretboard inlays we designed for the Starplayer TV DLX, making this one of the very few instruments to feature them.
We would be happy to make yours.
