Next comes the Fantom A’s two onboard humbuckers: a red-hot Crunchbucker in the bridge and a smoother, more mature Grand Vintage humbucker in the neck. These contrasting pickups produce a spread of complementary rock tones and set you up for success no matter what. Short-scale guitars are all about freedom and fun! Though once marketed to students and young players, short-scale solidbodies such as the Fantom A have gained quite a reputation among series pros! The Fantom A’s ebony fingerboard empowers unfettered movement across a 24.6-inch-length scale. Meanwhile, a maple neck provides a snappy, quick response that players love, and it does so with a set-neck design that increases sustain. Speaking of frets, the fingerboard’s 22 jumbo frets make for fluent bends, and each fret is pre-Plek’d at the point of manufacture for a fingerboard that’s guaranteed to work with you, not against you. Moreover, the neck features a compound radius, and this subtle touch enables fast leaps up and down the neck with optimized support.

The Grand Vintage neck pickup offers a mature, balanced sound that’s vintage-inspired but clearly hot-rodded for additional punch. What’s more, the Fantom expands the control scheme with a clever preset knob for the neck pickup. This preset feature lets you pre-configure quality levels and facilitate quick changes live or in the studio.
