Fender’s American Professional series produced some of the most popular instruments at Music Experience among working musicians and discerning amateurs. Now, with the American Professional II series, Fender has upped the ante, outfitting the formidable line with a slew of player-centric upgrades. The Fender American Professional II Telecaster features Tim Shaw’s latest V-Mod Tele single-coils, which deliver familiar Tele twang with enhanced clarity and focus. To provide an exceptional playing experience, the American Professional II Telecaster boasts a Deep "C" profile neck with a satin finish and a contoured heel joint. A Tele is a must-have in any guitar collection, and they don’t get much finer than the Fender American Professional II Telecaster.
For the American Professional II Telecaster, Fender's pickup guru, Tim Shaw, created a new breed of V-Mod single-coil pickups. The V-Mod II Tele single-coils have a vintage voice with modern clarity that players will appreciate. And, their volume mod circuit lets you pull back on the gain knob, without sacrificing top end, making it incredibly versatile onstage. Run it through your grittiest dirt pedals or your cleanest amp and the Fender American Professional II Telecaster will sound right at home.
After the wild success of the original American Professional Stratocaster, Fender's team of designers dedicated themselves to improving on the design. The resulting instrument, the American Professional II Telecaster, features several improvements and upgrades that push the classic design to new heights. V-Mod II Telecaster single-coil pickups dish out signature Tele spank and twang with added detail. The upgraded “cut” 3-saddle top-load/string-through bridge has a classic look with enhanced flexibility for setting individual string tension to achieve perfect intonation. Factor in the all-new "Super-Natural" neck finish, and the Fender American Professional II Telecaster sets the tone for what a professional-level instrument should look, sound, and feel like.
The Deep "C" neck profile that you'll find on the Fender American Professional II Telecaster solidbody electric guitar is a slight upgrade from the Fender American neck players have been in love with for years. By adding a touch more roundness to the back contour, the Deep "C" carve fills your hand perfectly while never inhibiting your technique. For added playing comfort, the back of the neck is finished in Fender's "Super-Natural" satin finish that feels fast and inviting. Your fingers will immediately notice how much control they have on the fretboard's Narrow Tall frets. For good reason, this fret wire is the most requested size at the Fender Custom Shop.
The American Professional II Telecaster® draws from more than seventy years of innovation, inspiration and evolution to meet the demands of today’s working player. Our popular Deep "C” neck now sports smooth rolled fingerboard edges, a “Super-Natural” satin finish and a newly sculpted neck heel for a supremely comfortable feel and easy access to the upper register. New V-Mod II Telecaster single-coil pickups are more articulate than ever while delivering the twang, snap and snarl that made the Tele famous. The new top-load/string-through bridge with compensated “bullet” saddles is our most comfortable, flexible Tele bridge yet – retaining classic brass-saddle tone and providing excellent intonation and flexible setup options, allowing you to tailor the tension and tone of each string to your liking. The American Pro II Telecaster delivers instant familiarity and sonic versatility you’ll feel and hear right away, with broad ranging improvements that add up to nothing less than a new standard for professional instruments.
V-Mod II Telecaster pickups are voiced specifically for each position, creating a perfectly balanced tone with the vintage warmth and crisp, clear sound that made Fender a legend.
The rounded neck heel and beveled neck-plate improve access to the upper register and make leads easy and comfortable.
The new Telecaster bridge sports compensated “bullet” brass barrel saddles for comfort, accurate intonation and vintage-informed tone. Strings can be top-loaded for reduced tension, resulting in a mellower twang and springy attack that’s perfect for rock n roll.
Delivering both comfort and speed, the American Professional II “Deep C” neck profile is slim at the nut and fills out gradually as it approaches the neck joint to create a natural feel that’s perfect for chording and single note playing alike. The hand-rolled fingerboard edges and Super-Natural satin finish provide a supremely comfortable feel.
A performance-friendly push-push switch on the volume control activates the series mode in position 2, using both pickups to create a fatter tone not normally found on a Tele.
This guitar is available in either alder or roasted pine (on select colors). Alder is a classic Fender tonewood with a balanced sound perfect for almost any genre. Roasted pine is a lightweight wood known for punchy and complex tone – upgraded with our roasting treatment, greatly improving resonance.
