No doubt about it: The Edge's Stratocasters helped inspire the signature tones on countless U2 records and set a new standard for what the instrument could do. That's why Fender was pleased to offer The Edge a signature Strat that he not only endorses, but plays personally out on the road in arenas all over the world! The Edge Stratocaster features a jumbo '70s-style headstock with Edge's autograph on a fast maple neck, premium Fender pickups with aged pickup covers and knobs, and the American Deluxe's two-point synchronized tremolo bridge for Edge's haunting sustain and subtle shimmery vibrato. If you love The Edge's tone as much as Music Experience guitarists, do yourself a favor and check out The Edge Signature Fender Stratocaster.
Whether you've studied The Edge's style and tones or you just want a great-playing Strat with classic-styled appointments, the Fender Edge Signature Stratocaster delivers. With its comfortable alder body, fast maple neck, and versatile, responsive, punchy, and soulful pickups, it's no exaggeration to say the Fender Strat has helped shape the very sound of rock 'n' roll for the past 60 years.
The Edge Stratocaster features a quartersawn modern neck designed for comfort and performance, with a contemporary "C"-shaped profile. The 9.5" fingerboard radius is slightly flatter than a vintage-style radius, but still offers enough arc to provide a comfortable fret-hand feel, making bending notes easier. For 1970s-era authenticity, this guitar also features the "large" Stratocaster headstock adopted in 1965 with The Edge's signature on the front of the headstock.
A powerful combination of special Custom Shop Fat ‘50s single-coil middle and neck pickups and a DiMarzio FS-1 bridge pickup—each with flattened pole pieces—not only offers a wide range of tones, but also serves as a testament to the meticulous efforts to enhance The Edge's signature tone.
The Edge Stratocaster uses a two-point tremolo design with fully adjustable polished stainless steel "block" saddles and a pop-in arm. This design results in a smoother playing feel, greater range of motion and increased tuning stability.
The Edge Strat features a contoured neck heel specially designed for maximum playing comfort. Rather than the traditional squared-off heel, it’s smoothly sculpted for comfortably easy access to the upper reaches of the fingerboard.
As a special touch, The Edge Stratocaster includes a custom-designed deluxe hardshell case with black and gray tweed covering and a metal Fender logo.
Enjoy lightning-fast, easy re-stringing and enhanced playability from the new locking short-post tuning machines. Not only do they provide increased break angle at the nut, they also increase tuning stability.
